Thank you to the hundreds of you who responded to our post about the domestic violence referral. Sadly, this type of referral is our most common (around 80% are domestic violence related) – we are continuing to support this family, and will do a full update next week. Other thank you’s go to four kind ladies, one of whom gave us a cheque for £100 towards our Christmas fund to support local families with gifts (over 800 last year) and treat boxes, a lady who purchased brand new duvets and pillows for the family, and also paid for a new sofa for them, a lady who purchased brand new coats for the parent and child; and finally to Janine from Beauty No.1 Salons who raised £85.00 in the South Run last weekend. You are all amazing, and help us continue supporting these families.

Thank you so much again to Status Flooring Ltd for providing (and delivering) carpets to a family whose home had bare floorboards. This will enable the family to make their house a home for their children.

This time of year if very stressful for parents with little money – trying to feed & entertain their children in the Summer Holidays and then the added cost of new uniform.  More uniform off to a happy parent and some Lush products for a much needed treat

It has been a busy week  – we attended a Medium Night where we held a raffle and raised £111.00 – thank you to Micky Havelock and Mark Stone for inviting us.  We have also provided a washing machine for a single dad who was washing clothes in the sink with washing up liquid, a fridge freezer and cooker for a mum who had fled domestic violence with nothing, and Lush packs to the refuge to give the mum’s a bit of luxury and make them feel good about themselves.
