We were asked by a Family Outreach Worker to provide a pushchair and car seat for a mum who is struggling to take her toddler out and get him safely to hospital appointments with his siblings. Thank you for the donation of the pushchair and for helping us fundraise, which buys brand new items like car seats etc.
We find that Mums and teenage siblings go without so the needs of their younger siblings can be met. Many of these families have suffered domestic violence. We decided that they deserve a treat too – so Lush Packs are being distributed to these families via Social Services and Family Outreach Workers – Thank you Lush
Another request this week from a Family Outreach Worker, for birthday gifts for two siblings, who would otherwise have gone without. A football goal, football and scooter are off to the family this week. We have also provided clothing, books and a skateboard to help the family thought this difficult time.
We are delighted to announce that 4com have chosen us as their Charity of the Year for 2017.
To say we are overwhelmed is an understatement – our Charity is going from strength to strength and we can now help support even more families going forward.
How will 4Com be raising the money?
This year, we’re heading over to the Isle of Wight on July 15th, attempting to complete a circuit of the island by running 13.2 miles, cycling 31 miles and walking 22 miles. We’re aiming to complete the entire challenge within 15 hours. Our team will have the choice of doing 1, 2 or all three challenges and as always, we’ll be keeping everyone up to date with our training as the big day events
What we’re looking for in our charity partner
The successful charity will show how the donated funds will be used in a project that will affect a wide number of people in our local area. We’re looking to be part of a legacy; in the same way that we have been with our three previous winners; a play area at Linwood School, a holiday home with Amelia’s Rainbow and a new indoor play space with Diverse Abilities.
Thank you again to the staff and students of Bournemouth Arts University for donating their spare change in our Charity Pots. Another £39.00 which will buy a microwave for a family in temporary accommodation. Thank you!!

When Lush found out that we also help families in crisis, they contacted us again to ask if they could help support these families by donating some of their hand made toiletries. We were delighted to receive a huge delivery of products today, which is enough to help 30 families!

We are a very small charity, with three trustees and a little group of Volunteers. We all run the charity in our spare time, which ensures that 100% of donations made (and every item donated) goes directly to the families we support. We currently cover the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole areas.
In the past week alone, we have supported 7 families, most of them have been victims of domestic violence or human trafficking, and are trying to re-build their lives following safeguarding in the refuges. We have supplied them with children’s and adults clothing, toys, books, baby clothes, baby equipment, birthday presents, food, bedding, carpet and furniture. We are self funded, and rely purely on public donations of items, monetary donations from public and local companies, and our own fundraising (fetes, charity pots, quiz nights, raffle etc).
If you could put us forward as a nominated charity at your place of work, or have one of our Charity Pots at your workplace, this would help us continue our vital work.

Thank you so much to the guys and girls at LUSH Bournemouth Store. We were made so welcome and EVERYONE put 100% into selling the “Charity Pot” product for us at the weekend. We are amazed to announce that they raised £886.00 for us, selling the “Charity Pot” product.
