Thank you for all your ideas about creating a charity event or session for kids at Christmas. As we said we would contact Ashley’s Birthday Bank and see what they suggested we do, being the experts!
Based on your suggestions we asked them whether a dedicated play session (party) on a specific date near Christmas, for underprivileged children would be the best choice. We explained we would raise money towards the cost of the children’s play and food for up to 15 children and we would provide a free hot drink for the accompanying adults.
However, they replied:
“Due to the sensitive nature of the clients we support, we feel it would be better if you were able to provide us with tickets for 15 children (Like “golden tickets”) and we can distribute them to some of the families we feel would benefit the most, and they could come to your play centre as a “member of the public with a free ticket” on their chosen day, rather than an organised event for vulnerable families. The families are referred to us through other channels, so we don’t have direct contact with them, but could distribute the vouchers through the referrers.”
So that is what we are doing! We need to raise £105 for 15 children to come and play and eat with us at their own chosen day. We shall print off the tickets for them and Ashley Birthday Bank will pass those on for us.
We will provide a free tea or coffee for the parent/guardian bringing them along. Please help to raise the money with us by sharing this post and keep sharing it, you don’t have to give the £7 but anything will help!
We would like to thank everyone for all their support and patience while we decided the best way to go about it all.
Please donate here:

If everyone could share this link to their friends and family – it would be appreciated. If you sign up to “Give as you live” and choose our charity to support. You can shop as normal at sites such as Amazon, Ebay, Asda, Tesco, Argos etc, and we receive a percentage of your purchase (at no extra cost to you) – this is how much I have raised – “Anna – you’ve raised £34.26!
You’re supporting Ashley’s Birthday Bank – they’ve raised £88.98” Every penny makes a difference to us – £15 will buy nappies and milk for a baby in poverty, £50.00 will buy a microwave for a family in B&B accommodation, and £80 will buy a week’s food shop for a family in poverty. Thank you
Thank you so much to Upton Infant School who are holding a Pyjama Party after half term to raise funds for our “Beddie Byes” scheme, which will raise vital funds to ensure no child continues to sleep on the floor. Good luck with the fundraising, and we love the very appropriate theme for your fundraiser! If anyone else would like to hold a sponsored event for us, please get in touch – firstname.lastname@example.org
