During the past 4 weeks, we have provided a microwave and toaster for a homeless teenager; baby toiletries and nappies for a family in poverty; washing machine and food shop for a family who have been through domestic violence; a pram and nappies for a young mum in care; baby clothes, bath, moses basket and fridge freezer for a mum who has been through domestic violence; a food shop for a family in poverty who has special needs and struggling to cope; a food shop, birthday present and bunk beds for a family in poverty; a double mattress for a family in poverty; school uniform for a family in poverty; a food shop for a family in poverty due to job loss; a double bed for a family in poverty; a food shop for a family in poverty who has mental health issues; a food shop for a family who’s cupboards were bare when a Support Worker visited; a food shop for a family who are waiting for benefits to be sorted; a pushchair for a family in poverty; uniform for a family who had been through domestic violence; cot, nappies and a stairgate for a family in poverty; baby toys, clothes, nappies and pushchair for a newborn living in poor conditions; a cooker for a parent who has been through domestic violence and is suffering depression; baby clothes, toys, baby mat, bottles and cot for a family in the human trafficking refuge; a toddler bed for a family in poverty; clothes and shoes for families in the refuge; a foodshop, toys, and clothing for a parent who has been through domestic violence and was selling child’s toys and clothes to buy food; a fridge freezer for a parent in poverty who has learning difficulties; an Ikea voucher for a family in poverty who has mental health issues, so they can buy furniture and a highchair; childrens clothes, toiletries, books, toys and a food shop for a family in poverty; a fridge freezer for a parent who has been through domestic violence; birthday gifts for the refuge; a wardrobe, desk & chair, bedroom door and a foodshop for a family in poverty; newborn clothes for a parent in the human trafficking refuge; a washing machine for a parent who has been through domestic violence; kitchen equipment for a family who have been through abuse; bedding, curtains, baby clothes, nappies, food and bed for a family in poverty who have been through domestic violence; a food shop for a family in poverty; and bunk beds for a family in poverty. We are also starting to receive referrals for Christmas presents, which are purely for children who would otherwise go without a gift.
