Well done to Prince Harry for talking about the stigma of mental health. Many of the local families we support (including young children) are suffering with mental health; whether it be from sexual abuse, violence, witnessing the death of a family member through drug/alcohol abuse; or being in extreme poverty. They have all been affected in some way. Hopefully raising the profile will ensure more money is assigned for counselling, and helping these families cope with their awful experiences and gives them a brighter future.

Another Amazing Fundraiser – Thanks to Everyone Involved
Thank you to everyone involved in making our quiz night a huge success. Our trustees and volunteers especially Gina & Jez for making the chilli & curry, Lynn for making the lasagne, and Sarah for being our quiz “mistress”! Thank you to Nicola Cadby and Jenny Stanworth for making the most amazing cakes, and thank you to everyone who bought tickets. We raised a fantastic £735, which will enable us to continue supporting local underprivileged families.
5 x 10k Runs to Raise Funds for us – WOW!!
Molly Knight has generously (or madly!) decided to enter 5 x 10k runs to raise much needed funds for Ashley’s Birthday Bank – please support her by clicking the link – every £1 helps!
“My challenge to myself is to run 5x 10k’s this year, and a few shorter runs! I’m raising money for a local charity, Ashley’s Birthday Bank who provide help, advice and support to struggling families, single mothers and victims of domestic violence. They also provide birthday and Christmas presents to families where the children might otherwise not have got anything. There are so few places that support women and families in this way, and it is run by volunteers so 100% of money raised goes directly to those who need it. What an amazing charity! I’ve chosen to raise money for them because being a single mummy is hard in so many different ways, but not being able to give him everything I want to be able to is really tough. But I’m so lucky to have what I do have, and to have friends and family around supporting me, but many don’t have this and rely on charities such as Ashley’s Birthday Bank to support them. So please, dig deep, and sponsor me to keep running and raising funds this year!”
