Thank you so much to Tesco Extra and Carla & Sabrina community for their ongoing support for us. £300 donated from their recent book sales initiative (which will be used towards food shops for families in poverty); and two big bags of items including school stationery, bedding, toys etc.
Sadly we had two referrals last week for babies who had been born into a modern slavery situation. Shocking to think this goes on within our Community. We hope the women involved get the help they need to start a new life with their newborns.
We were welcomed to AFCB Pitchside last week to accept our cheque from AFCB Cherries Community Fund. This money was granted to pay for beds, and while we were sat in their reception, we had referrals come in for 6 beds for different families. Reasons being – child at risk who was sleeping on an old mattress on the floor, a child who had witnessed domestic violence and was awarded custody to the other parent with no bed to sleep on, and a family who had been homeless and now been given a new home to settle in.
