Three Girls – Powerful and Heartbreaking

This powerful drama (although very uncomfortable viewing) highlights the true affect of trafficking and the fact that this term is not only applied to people being trafficked into our Country. This is happening all around us, and only the vulnerable children, many of whom have already been through or witnessed domestic violence, abuse, neglect or been brought up in alcoholic surroundings, seem to be targeted. Very very sad, and one of the many reasons our Charity continues to do what we do.

Fun at the Donkey Derby

Fantastic day at Kinson Donkey Derby – the rain cleared up and the crowds got bigger and bigger. We sold out of adopt and friend and tombola and made nearly £250 which is amazing, and will help so many families.

Amazing Prizes in our Grand Summer Raffle

We need to sell more raffle tickets – if anyone can take even a few books into work to sell, it will make a big difference – tickets are 50p each (£2.50 a book) and the prizes are amazing – a brand new 32″ tv, 5 passes for local days out in the Summer Holidays (a week’s worth in one prize!!), a free boiler check and carbon monoxide detector, family ticket to tank museum, bottles of gin and flavourings etc etc etc – all top 3 prizes alone are worth £340! And most of the other ones are £40+ each – so please support our raffle and help us raise more funds to keep helping local families. Thank you

Continuing our Support for Local Families in Need

It has been a busy few weeks – requests from Children’s Outreach for girls clothing and groceries for a family who have escaped domestic violence. When delivering these items, we realised that the family also needed a new microwave as theirs was in a dangerous condition and they also have bare concrete floors. We have supplied all the items, other than carpet – we are waiting for confirmation of room sizes and will continue to support them. We also gave the older sister some birthday presents as they were unable to buy anything for her.

A call from the Refuge to help provide for a family who have been given a flat after staying at the refuge – we are providing children’s bedding, furniture, kitchen equipment etc.

Another request from Social Services to help a young pregnant mum with baby equipment, moses basket, bedding, etc.

This has all been achieved by the ongoing support from local people, and from our fundraising efforts. Please help us continue this vital work, by supporting our latest fundraiser – our Grand Summer Raffle. Details on our Facebook page – thank you
